Mood board and creative direction
Manda and Lynn at Creative Tots already had a logo they loved the idea of, but the look just wasn’t quite working for them, so we decided on a refresh rather than starting from scratch. I kept the original concept and stripped it back, swapping the font for my hand-drawn lettering that they were really excited about. The tree and circles idea stayed, but I reworked it in my style to give it more personality, more character, and a bit more life. The original logo is shown here in the centre.
Primary logo, submark and illustration
The logo has been reworked, but still keeps the essence of the original. The tree with circles remains, now stripped back and simplified to feel less busy and more eye-catching. The curves from the existing letterforms and lowercase font have been carried through, but re-drawn into playful, hand-drawn typography to add more personality and character. I also created a globe illustration to be used as an ocassional Secondary logo.
Colour palette
Manda and Lynn had already chosen a colour palette they loved, so I built the refreshed logo around that, bringing in my own hand-lettering and illustrative style to give it more personality and character. I always work collaboratively with clients on things like colour, making sure everything feels aligned with their brand and vision.
